Chemical Free Certification

We have just received our "Certificate of Accreditation" as a "Chemical Free farm.

Very exciting but not unexpected. After all, Aquaponics like nothing else is "Chemical Free".

The good people from the Auditing Organisation came and visited, inspected thoroughly, took away water and leaf samples that were sent off to the testing Lab. Amal Analytical.
Excellent results came back.

They tested for;

• 49 Herbicides and Fungicides
• 10 Synthetic Pyrethroids
• 54 OP Pesticides.
• 3 Glyphosate's
• 16 Heavy metals
• All tests showed lower than allowed or non-existent.
• It is a very exciting development for Aquaponics Practitioners here in Australia.

The organisation that certified us is the Chemical Free Farmers Association of Australia which is in turn an affiliate of and under the control of the overarching body, IFOAM Organics International. Visit their website here https://www.ifoam.bio/en/about-us

As part of the certification water samples were collected, leaf samples from random places in the greenhouses and then sent off to the Lab to be analysed.
We must undergo an annual re-assessment and have agreed to random, without notice, assessments.
Good record keeping of all farm inputs is required.

The inspector was very thorough looking in all cupboards and storage areas, inspecting any spray equipment and so on.

In reality, It is very easy for a properly run Aquaponics Greenhouse to comply. We are all anti-chemical in our approach to what we do.

The certification confirms that we are indeed the providers of CHEMICAL FREE, PURE FOOD.

Yes, it vindicates the Aquaponics method and the thing that is most important to consumers....."Pure Food"

Next thing we are going to get the lab to run a series of nutrient analytics and see how we are going there, but that will take a long time because we will experiment with different feed ratios and Kelp etc to discover the optimum.
